Man pleads innocent to Mooseheart sex charges

ST. CHARLES – A 29-year-old family teacher pleaded innocent Friday to charges that he sexually abused young boys at Mooseheart.

Jonathan Scott is accused of fondling or performing sex acts on seven boys ages 6 to 12 at the school between North Aurora and Batavia over the past 16 months. He faces two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and 19 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Mooseheart officials said Scott had no previous record and passed a background check. They said they would cooperate fully with the investigation.

Scott was arrested Tuesday and is being held in the Kane County jail on $750,000 bail. His attorney, David Camic, filed a motion Friday to have bond reduced. That will be addressed at a hearing Wednesday before Kane County Judge Donald Hudson.
